Yale 2022 Applicants Discussion

Good luck everyone!! With no interview so far I started to believe my chances are close to 0

@cardust my orchestra teacher says the same! We have a concert the night of decisions and she’s always like “for those seniors waiting on college decisions…please wait until after the concert…I don’t want you to have to walk on stage bawling your eyes out!” :))

To be honest- it is good advice (although I doubt I’ll be able to take it as well lol)

@bardib I’m from Singapore. I know someone from another school had an interview, but no one from my school.

@hope469 My favorite teacher found out she got into Stanford right before a ballet performance so she bawled her eyes out, put herself together, and then went on stage.
Also, your username looks familiar… Is there any chance I saw you on the TASP thread?

@Cariar you posted this in a few threads-- Yale assigns interviews almost if not completely randomly and they only have a minor impact for those who get them.

@dreamsofbrown I think I remember u from th yygs ias thread!

@dreamsofbrown oh cool! Probably, although I was rejected :frowning:

@dreamsofbrown good for your teacher too! that’s a lot of skill lol

@hope469 haha oh well good luck to you! for your concert, and for yale haha

@cardust thanks, same to you!

9 days left…I’m so nervous…

@antwaine congrats !!!

I just want to know my results!!! Everyone says being deferred is better than rejected but I just need a decisive answer ):

@cliffnotes I’d feel disappointed with a deferral or rejection, but I would be EXTREMELY sad if I got flat out rejected =((

I feel that I know more about Yale when I am waiting for the admission decision…and fall in love with this school… it will be disappointing if there is a straight rejection.

Hey guys, this may not be the right place, but I was wondering how direct you were when answering the short answer questions? Like for the “What inspires you?” did you literally just write “I am inspired by…” given the 200 character limit?

@SamuelChurro I used up as much of the characters as I could. Personally I tried to make each answer its own story to show a different side of myself, I didn’t spend any of the already few characters I had to restate the question. Some of my answers were pretty embarrassingly honest haha

I tried to showcase my funny side as much as possible w the shorter answers bc my other supplementary essays were superrrrr serious. @SamuelChurro

I’ve been compulsively reading Yale EA decision threads and comparing myself and it’s just a reminder that my scores suck and I won’t get in.

I think I’m the youngest person in this thread applying to Yale… I’m only 4 years old (I was born on February 29th haha). :slight_smile:
