My friend who was matriculating to Stanford said that she didn’t want to get a B because Stanford was going to make her write a letter explaining why she got it (but not kick her out obviously). So Yale may have a similar policy? It’s not entirely unbelievable, maybe a little exaggerated.

There are a # of elite schools who have in the past rescinded offers of admission when the student’s grades fell off dramatically… i.e. Cs or worse. And it may even be conceivable that going from straight As to straight Bs could be putting your position at risk. But I doubt that Yale or similar schools would go so far as to rescind an offer just because of one or even a few Bs.

Those fortunate enough to be accepted to Yale would be wise to simply sustain the pattern of performance that earned the acceptance in the first place though…

Do you guys think it’s too late to send additional information? LOL

A funny site to take some stress away:

[Admissions Problems](http://admissionsproblems.■■■■■■■■■■)

@FlaWless007 How important is it? It might be a little late, but I would call the admissions office if it is important enough to change a decision (i.e. explanation for string of bad grades?)

I just found that the status of school report on the checklist suddenly changed to “missing” today. I definitely go see my guidance counselor tomorrow to fax the material, but I feel like I will be disadvantaged for this sudden change/late evaluation…

^But they won’t see grades you just got anyways. Honestly at this point they’ve probably already gone through their decisions. I guess you can try, but not sure how far it’ll get you. Chances are you’ll get deferred (just seems like the most common response) and you can submit additional info later anyways.

It was checked all off yesterday, but it changed today. How could they find that the meterial is missing thos too late? I’m not blaming, but it’s really frustrating.

anybody heard from yale yet? or will they tell us all on the 16th? :)

There seems to be a post on the Facebook group that Yale has accidentally sent out acceptance emails at 5PM. I think he might be trying to deceive us, but the post still makes me anxious. Has anyone received word from Yale? I really don’t think Yale would make such a mistake like this… :(

^ ok thank you I saw that and I started freaking out… but i’m pretty sure it’s a “■■■■■” because I have heard from absolutely no one about getting an email so…

someone on CC would have received that email if it was true that they sent it accidentally

What FB group ^^^? Is it the one I mentioned earlier??

We actually got a call from Yale today, which was surprising. They simply asked a clarification question that seemed rather trivial. And then it was odd to have her politely end the call by wishing my daughter the best of luck on Monday. We are of course not trying to read anything in to it. On one hand though… if they know the decision already, why even ask the question? and why wish her luck? But it made us think that decisions are still being made this week.

We will all know in less than 7 days now. All we can do is to hope for a singing bulldog.

Does any other college have a unique way of making the announcement to those being accepted? Any deliveries via owl for example? lol

yep the “yale class of 2018 applicants” facebook group…I want to say it’s a ■■■■■ but i’m not certain 100%

annnnnd it’s gone.

I doubt a college would “accidentally” send out a bunch of acceptance emails. ESPECIALLY since the acceptances aren’t even announced by email! Trolls are so annoying

Woah guys! Just got an acceptance email from Yale!!!

Just kiddin :0

^ i just had a mini heart attack :O

@wwward, what kind of question did they ask? I can’t really imagine them asking a trivial question this late in the game…

A lot of SCEA applicants at my school are starting to get salty and it’s not even decision day yet. This is around the time when everyone starts bashing URMs and starts complaining about the un-transparency of ivy admissions lol. Happens every year. Yet these very same applicants were asking me weeks earlier if their status as first gen would get them in. SMH…
