Yale Class of 2018 SCEA Discussion thread

@Benley, when was this email originally sent? This seems to be a rather recent development.

Results tomorrow? That would beā€¦ well, it depends on the result really. Actually no, I donā€™t really even care that much at the moment about whether or not I got in, I just want to know. Okay, and I do want to see the singing bulldog.

Mike, it was yesterday.

wait sorry but there are too many pages to search through
in the original email with the eli acct it said the 17th. why do you all suspect decisions will be released the 16th? or now rather the 15th?

Well the date was changed to the 16th several days ago (confirmed by multiple calls to the admissions office as well as their website), and now it appears the date might have changed again.

is it just me, or does it say that the application checklist will be closed until the 19th?
do you check your status there or is there a separate link?

Has anyone checked with Yale to confirm that it is the 15th rather than the 16th? I need to be mentally prepared if itā€™s tomorrow!!

@caligirl223 this is the link: <a href=ā€œApplication Managementā€>Application Management;

@mybestshot
thank you so much!!!

and i agree with @x3Strawb3rry

I canā€™t access my ELI account. It says that I can view it on December 19th now. Previously I could see my application checklist but now itā€™s blank.

Anyone else getting this? : p u u.sh/5MVKe.png

(remove the spaces)

Theyā€™ll open it back up when decisions are released

Itā€™s what they told my mom, but Benley seems to have some insider info. Itā€™s probably the 16th if an email sent yesterday said so. Maybe they just messed up with my mom? She still insists that thatā€™s what the person said.

Can you guys answer my question? Itā€™s killing me.

I accidential checked off ā€œwill or did get GEDā€ in my common app. I had no idea what it meant( iā€™m an international student) and it is a complete mistake. I have had no interuptions and will get a high school degree. I emailed AO 3 or 4 times weeks ago, but none of them are answered. So I assumed that it is changed and the AO just wouldnā€™t bother to apply my emails. I couldnā€™t call the AOs because I lost my voice (it will recover, donā€™t worry). So does this affect my chance?

Pleaseā€¦

@Alice

From what Iā€™ve read here, admissions emails are tended to pretty quickly. Most do not receive a response unless they follow up and ask if the information has been received.

[Eli Accounts | Yale College Admissions](http://admissions.yale.edu/eli-accounts) I think itā€™s definitely the 16th because Iā€™m sure they made the final decision on when to post the results before they changed the ā€˜Eli Accountsā€™ page and closed the application checklist, and put ā€˜available in the evening on the 16thā€™ after the decisions link. Thereā€™s no reason for them to put up uncertain information or frequently change it. So the 16th it is.

Does anyone know what to expect when the results finally come and you click on the ā€˜Early Action Decisionsā€™? I suspect that after this you will have to log in, and then after that, what happens? Is there going to be a letter on the screen, and if itā€™s an acceptance they play a song? I really wanna make sure I know whatā€™s gonna happenā€¦ it helps ease the anxiety.

@Jules2018

Thanks for answering my question. So does that mean itā€™s already changed?

OMG, the wait is killing me.

@Mike Maybe the particular admissions officer talking to your mom accidentally got it wrong. Is anyone planning on calling tomorrow to confirm?

@Alice
My best guess is yes. I understand the anxiety, and I wish you the best of luck!

@Jules2018

Thank you again. Best of luck for everybody~

gahh I hope they come out tomorrow magicallyā€¦I donā€™t want to check in the middle of my exams
