I love how the Yale thread has so many more messages than any other early ivy thread. We love to freak out, don’t we? Guilty of that myself…

I don’t expect to get in (how could anyone?), but I’m still freaking out for tomorrow. Ahh

Kind of sad to say that I have read EVERY single of these 1000+ messages.

Earlier I know that Yahoo and G-mail blocked the Yale account. Does anyone know if this was fixed? So, if we have a Yahoo or G-mail should we wait for an email or just go to the Eli Account?

@jibber101 -Just go to the Eli Account anytime after 5. Don’t wait for an email- check it out yourself.

@lion0924 - thank you!

@FlaWless007 I got shortlisted too, but after checking the Yale NUS website I realized that they don’t offer the courses I am interested in, plus the financial aid for international students is pretty limited. That’s why I withdrew my application from them. I didn’t feel that I should waste their time with an interview when I’m not that interested.

I sent in my SAT scores to NUS really late (like late Nov 30th) but I don’t want to go there so oh well…

If NUS possibly decides to accept me, I think I’d keep it as an option. I don’t think it’d hurt

I wasn’t sure how to withdraw my application, so i just never responded to the interview…Is it a good indicator for future college admissions success if you were short-listed. From what I have seen, the people who are short-listed are pretty qualified, not trying to put myself on a pedestal or anything…

I think it just means that shortlisted applicants are just qualified overall and that they’d possibly be a good fit for NUS. Then they’ll know for sure after the interview whether they really want you or not/going through your app again

“When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-
It’s when things go wrong that you must not quit.”

Only 27 more hours to go. Good luck with the wait… and good luck with the result.

Is it true that email notifications for people who were rejected/deferred come out before the notifications for people who were accepted?

@ Game
I don’t think Yale notifies of your decision via email. I think you have to log into your Eli account to get your decision. I may be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am.

@Jules
I know the emails don’t contain any admissions decision info, but do they tell you that you can check the admissions website for your decision?

If so, do people who are rejected/deferred get that email notification first?

I don’t know; I’ve just heard of schools, that have an admissions website who send out email notifications telling students to check that website, that send out emails in waves. Not sure if that applies to Yale, though.

@Game
I don’t know the answer to that one. Perhaps someone else does?

I checked last year’s thread, and there doesn’t appear to be any correlation. People who got the emails as early as 4:40 were both rejected/deferred and accepted.

good luck tomorrow everyone!!! wishing everyone the best

I think someone asked this question previously but no one answered it:

So what happens when you log in to the admissions page? Does the singing bulldog/letter immediately come up? Are there several other things you click on before seeing your decision? I want to be prepared…
