How does a 9:45 3200m, a 2:02 800m and a 4:30 mile time as a junior add up for these colleges? I've already looked at that one athetic scholarship site, but it's a bit vague IMO. What would be about the minimum times to run at these colleges?

Each program is going to have different needs in any given year, so you can’t really say - if I run a 1:56 800m, I’ll get recruited at Princeton. Take a look at the Ivy championship results from last year, [2011 Men?s Outdoor Heps Results | HepsTrack.com](http://hepstrack.com/championships/heps-archives/the-2010s/2010-11/2011-men’s-outdoor-heps-results/)
It should give you an idea of the roster depth at each school and times that score points in each event.

Couple of thoughts - your times should be reasonably close to the times that score points if you want to generate much interest. Ivy coaches really need guys who can come in and contribute right away since there is no red-shirting (exc. injury). Also, if you see that your time is competitive at Yale, but not Princeton, for example - don’t assume that means the Yale coach will be excited to support you. Yale has been reducing the support for athletics, so you may be welcome to run on the team, but may not get any admission support.

Check these out … [Men’s Track Recruiting Guidelines](http://www.ncsasports.org/recruiting-tools/College-Track-Recruiting/mens-track-recruiting-guidelines) … which puts you on the edge of being a D1 recruit if your senior year starts out well.

When I was in high school (in the dark ages 35 years ago) mu junior times of 4:29/9:55 started conversations with a couple Ivyies … they quickly asked how many miles I had been running and what my best 400 was … I assume they were trying to figure out my upside.

You have nothing to lose contacting coaches (they have contact links on their team pages) … they will quickly let you know if they are interested or not.

FYI - there are a couple levels of interest … coaches were interested in my running for them at some D1 schools if I was admitted on my own however they were not willing to use a recruiting slot on me. So I’d suggest thinking about what you want out of running college … the chance to compete or recruiting pull … it may affect your application list. (In my case I could have run at low D1 schools but needed to drop to D3 schools to get admission pull).
