<p>I've heard a lot about Yale's Directed Studies program lately, does anyone know more about it/is anyone actually doing it? If so, what have you heard/how are you finding it? I'm all for a challenging workload if it's actually interesting. Also, is it true you get better access to professors through it? Continuing along that same path, I'm most probably looking to major in English, while of course I've heard about the English programs at Yale, how are the other colleges? I'm interested in Stanford, is their English faculty any good? From what I've heard it's a pretty science focused school, I may be wrong. Has anyone majored in English there?</p>
<p>I think Stanford has something similar or equivalent to Yale’s Directed Studies, it’s called SLE (Structured Liberal Education).</p>
