Yale Eli Whitney Program Fall 2019!!

looks like the regular transfers hear back today. Appears unlikely EWP is today based upon past years, but maybe there’s a chance.

So when do we all think these decisions are going to emerge? My wishful thinking fortune cookie says tomorrow… any takers? Any information based on facts rather than my wild speculation?

@RainbowBritey Hey! I recognize you from the RUE 2019 thread. I’m also waiting to hear from Yale to make a decision between Brown and Yale, so I understand your anticipation! I put Wednesday on my calendar since thats when decisions were released last year.

Looking like today or Friday

My Interviewer mentioned the 17th as the decision date for Yale.

Decisions are out!!! Anyone else? My husband and I both got in

Also accepted! The feeling is unreal!!!

@AndyG130 congratulations!!! Have you decided between Brown and Yale yet? How did FA packages compare for you? I’ll post a bit more detail later but Brown’s aid is better for my family. (Not that Yale isn’t generous)

@RainbowBritey Congratulations to you as well! I decided on Yale. As a veteran they pay your tuition without using your GI Bill benefits, so I can save my benefits for an MBA. I love both schools equally but Yale works better for me in the long run. Lmk if you end up choosing Yale, I would like to meet other future Yalies!

Thanks @andyg130 that’s good to know and good to have out there for future applicants!

Hey all, here is my stats wrap-up to make it easier for future applicants to find.

EWS Specific: Interview = yes (admissions officer and current student), aid offer covered all tuition plus a generous stipend for off-campus housing and expenses, loan-free.

Current college: Community College (CA)

Entering as a Sophomore (Choosing to relinquish credit)

Major: Anthro & Environmental Policy

No SAT/ACT

College GPA: 4.0 (completed college honors, TAP for UCLA, IGETC, etc)

US/Intl: US (immigrant - dual citizenship)

ECs: PTK Pres, Published, Presented research, Non-Trad, Parent, State-level policy work, loads of volunteer work, UCLA CCCP, UCB TAP, UCB SPMP, very involved on my campus and in my community.

Applied for FA: Yes (Best FA Offers were from Berkeley, Brown, and Williams, worst were Cal State and UCLA)

Applied to: Cal State, UCSC, UCB, UCLA, Amherst, Brown, Swarthmore, Williams, Yale

Accepted: All except Swarthmore (Waitlisted)

Attending: 99% certain it’ll be Williams

Comments: I had my essays checked for grammar and clarity but resisted changes to content because I felt that it was more important that I represented myself accurately than that I changed what I focused on to fit within the box the transfer advisors expected. I felt that it was better to be rejected for who I am than accepted for someone I am not; this worked out well for me. I am in my mid-thirties with a teenage daughter, I immigrated to the US in my twenties, my husband and I are transferring together and got into all of the same colleges. I have a couple of decades of work experience outside of my field and have traveled extensively. I think that this breadth of experience contributed to our unexpected success across the various types of colleges to which we chose to apply.

@RainbowBritey is there any chance I could speak with you about my plan to apply to Eli Whitney next year? I am really struggling to keep the positivity up and am in dire need of some advice into my own personal story/situation.

Or anyone else who was just admitted, it would mean a lot if I could have a few moments of your time! Thank you so much and congratulations to you all!

Hello
I am interested in applying in 2020. Although I have been very busy in the world of education, I have not been a student since 1989! It seems I need to enroll in community college ?
Any info i appreciated .
All the best …
