Yale EMS?

Can anyone explain how certification for Yale EMS works? Yale is my first choice, and assuming enough financial aid comes through in about a week (I only have a likely letter so I haven't seen the FA package yet) it's probably where I'll be attending. I'll be a pre-med and I'm really interested in going into emergency medicine, so working with EMS seems like to perfect extracurricular to get involved in. Here is Yale's webpage for the program --

Would you typically start training during your sophomore year, or is it possible to begin during you freshman year? Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

I think you can begin whenever the next class starts up. Alternatively, local community colleges will offer it much more frequently and will probably be cheaper. I only paid $125 for my EMT-B class at CCAC…
