Yale Essays Questions

<p>Hi, I am a rising senior who will be applying to Yale SCEA. After reading about Common App & Yale Supplement essays, I got confused and would like some clarification. </p>

What in particular about Yale has influenced your decision to apply? Please limit your response to the space provided.</p>

<p>(3) Second Essay (required)
"You have already told us about yourself in the Common Application, with its list of activities, the Short Answer, and the Personal Essay. While we leave
the topic of the second essay entirely up to you, try telling us something about yourself that you believe we cannot learn elsewhere in your application.
Please limit yourself to fewer than 500 words"</p>

<p>(4) Short-answer questions
1. What would you do with a free afternoon?
2. Name one thing of which you are especially proud.
3. What two qualities do you admire most in other people?
4. What do you wish you were better at being or doing?
5. What makes you feel physically and mentally renewed, other than a good night’s rest?</p>

<p>So are these 4 essays required for Yale? Is there anything else?

<p>how long should the short answer questions be? ie for the 2 qualities, do we just list them, or can we expand?</p>

<p>Those are short answer questions. They’re supposed to be in 25 words.</p>

Are all these essays submitted when you apply to Yale. In the common essay do you list all your activites or can you focus on just one that you are most passionate about. Are there any websites where i can find a sample of a common essay (1) thanks !</p>

<p>Buy or borrow from the library the (cheap) book by Harry Bauld on writing the college essay. It is a classic and will help you if you let it.</p>
