<p>Daughter just chose Yale over Harvard. It was a very, very tough decision, but from everything we’ve heard, the kids just seem happier at Yale than Harvard. The well-thought-out residential college system plays a huge role in that, it seems. We feel like you do your best work when you’re happy, so even if there are slightly more extra-curricular opportunities at Harvard that relate to her interests, she will be able to take fuller advantage of what’s at Yale due to the emotional support provided there. And the better parties are pretty appealing, too :)</p>

<p>@swingtime, Stanford (MIT to a lesser extent) is the binding force that glues HYPSMC together. Stanford caters to both the pools of HYPS and SMC students each elite in their own respect. You would even be urprised with the number of cross admits between MIT and Harvard. But Stanford is the mother Nature’s favorite!</p>
