Because I need financial aid for me to study in Yale-NUS and I really want to study there :(((((((
@Chestyyyboy i’m pretty sure the deadline is to get financial aid confirmed together with your official acceptance letter and that you can still submit financial aid after that date if you get an interview a bit later! I’m still waiting for an interview too, fingers crossed and you’re definitely not alone!! Also, where did you get that date? I can’t find it anywhere!
@jyjyjy I already asked the admissions and they said that Apr 13 is just a soft deadline and they would still accept the documents after, but we need to get shortlisted first. I think I saw the deadline somewhere in the Financial Aid section on the website. I hope we get shortlisted!
Actually, the deadline for financial aid was on the 8th. However I’m sure you can submit after the deadline as they mentioned it was possible, but you would merely find out your financial aid status later on.
Hi there! Can anyone share their experience on how they introduced themselves at the beginning of the interview? Like how did you guys answer the “tell me about yourself” type of questions. I’m really nervous as I have the interview tomorrow >< (first interview ever) Any advice would be really appreciated!
@sallysaltcat I have my interview tomorrow too! Did you choose a skype interview or one in person?
@samhita Hey! I chose skype interview. How about you?
@sallysaltcat mine is in person! good luck for it!
@samhita Omg thank you I wish you the best for tomorrow’s interview as well!
Ahhh, they’re sending out interview requests for round two now?
How have you guys spent your time after going for the interview? I just had mine a couple of days ago and I’ve been so anxious since! They say decisions come out early May, and though that’s in about 3 weeks it just seems like such a long wait.
My interviewer told me interviews will be going on this week and next week, and the results should be out end of april or early may. I’ve also heard they come out on May 1st but I’m not too sure!
Had the skype interview yesterday with the current student in Yale-NUS who’s graduating this year and I screwed it up pretty badly. (poor internet connections+skype had some serious issues+super nervous as it was my first interview ever+i was stammering and not making any sense) Sigh… Anyway, I’m just going to share the questions that were asked during the interview. (these qs were asked according to the order dat i remember)
- Why did you choose Yale-NUS
- Why are you interested in the major you chose
- What is your second favorite subject in school
- What do you think of leadership position(? Not sure how s/he worded this q. It is basically asking “in your perspective, tell me what is your definition of a leader”)
- What challenges have you faced as a leader
- What have you contributed to your community
- If you had the opportunity to go overseas and conducted a project, where and what would it be and why?
I think that’s it. I don’ t remember what else the interviewer asked. Hope these questions will benefit some current/future candidates. I wish you all the best and congrats to those who have been accepted to the school already!
When will the decisions come out? Any idea guys?
@Aguyonpercocet Monday I think! In the follow-up email to the interview it says decisions will be out by 1st May, and since 1st May is a public holiday I’m guessing it will most likely be out on Monday.
