Yale-NUS College Class of 2023

Just wanted to let everyone know, I emailed the Yale-NUS admissions office and they said “Currently, the reviewing of applications is ongoing for Round 1 and you will hear from us about your admission decisions by early April 2019.” If somehow the decisions do come out early March though, that would be great! (unless it’s bad news haha).

Last year the results were out on March 23. This year they have said April 1. But if indeed its out on March 1, it shall be huge blessing

its april 1st not march first.
“Admissions decisions will be released by 1 April 2019. Please be on the lookout for an email from Yale-NUS Admissions directing you to your Yale-NUS College Applicant Status Page.” Reply from ync admissions

True. I too read that.
However, when they say BY April 1, an earlier date too is a possibility.
I honestly hope its March 1 as the interviewers apparently have said in a couple of interviews.
But i know it wont be before March end :-S

Did anyone get an interview invite recently?

Hi everyone!
It’s good to see I’m not the only one starting to feel the post interview panics waiting for the results. ;
How’s everyone coping?

So, I had been shortlisted for Yale-NUS interview, which apparently consists of 20% of the ones who applied. But now, what percent of the interviewed get accepted?

@nushkismum My friend’s interviewer told him the same thing (You decision will be out on March 1st) so he is so confused.

The college takes only about 200 students and their intake is supposed to be under 5%. If 20% are shortlisted that means now the selection chances would be 20%. Still very tough. Lets keep our fingers crossed. It sure isnt coing out before April 1 even though a few said March 1 (today). If indeed it comes out today, it would be boon for us.

The Class of 2022 has about 250 kids iirc, but they actually accept more than that, to account for people declining their acceptance.

That then only betters our chances. Fingers crossed. Are u an applicant to? When do we expect the first decisions?

I’m a current student (class of 2022)! Unfortunately I don’t have any insider info on when the decisions will be released :frowning:

Thanks tonne. Last year i believe it was declared on 23 March

idk if its actually 20% because its not officially written anywhere

True. But info available in public domain does say that the applications to selection ration is around 5%.

Since it were stated above that around 20% applicants are called for interview, post interview the selection ration would come to 20%.

All said and done, it’s pretty competitive to get through . It’s an awesome college after all.

Good luck to everyone who got shortlisted for the interviews! As we nervously count down the dates. I’m betting it’ll probably be around 22nd to 24th March, similar to last year.

I had my interview on the 16th of January, and my interviewer told me I would receive the decision within 6 to 7 weeks; 1st March fits that timescale, but there are only a couple more hours to go for that statement to be true, if you go by Singapore time.

Maybe it’ll end up being early March then?

The question is, if interviewers were wrong about 1st of March, what stops another one from being wrong about 6 - 7 weeks?

If it’s any help, EYW for Round 1 is happening from 12-14th April this year. Usually they release the results about 2 weeks before EYW, since some international kids might have to get visas and what not.
