@amarmishra The only thing they’ve said is “you will hear from us about your admission decisions by early April 2019.”
So very open ended! Lat year they decision-ed on March 23. I hope its around the same time cause the wait often is agonizing
@badbarracuda hey thanks for that! 50% odds don’t seem that bad
Wow, that really does sound good! But don’t they only accept around 250 students from both rounds? I’m guessing they send more offers than the number that actually gets enrolled because some students may choose to reject YNC but still, 500 seems a lot.
By the way, what are your takes on the date of decision announcements this year? I’m guessing either the 22nd or 25th. Last year it was 23rd but it’s on Saturday now so I’m not too sure about it. I’ve been trying very hard not to think about these things because the anxiety isn’t helping, but now that we’re so close to finding out, I can’t help it. :)) How are you guys feeling?
I guess they were talking about overall, 500 students were accepted from both the rounds put together? Though I agree, the number seems a bit big. Is it bad to get our hopes up? XD
I’m guessing it’s on the 23rd this year too. Or at least, pitting that its around that date. Last time, they posted on their Yale-NUS admissions facebook that they were sending out the emails and packages the day before they did. So I’m keeping a close eye on that Facebook as well, though nothing yet!
Fingers crossed, we all get in and maybe become classmates haha
@Tene167 nah bro, its 250 students per year that go to ync.
Wdym you only filled the short supplement? wasnt it 2 questions, one short answers and one long answer.
Are you asking me? I had a question “Why Yale-NUS?” on the YNC application and I wrote about a 100 words on it, pretty sure it was the limit.
@idlynh Ya i was asking you. Damn, for me I applied directly to Yale NUS via Common App and I had to write Why yale NUS in 250 words and another 750 word essay.
Is anyone here applying to the Duke-NUS pathway? Any idea if the results for both will be released at the same time (since the interviews are held separately)
With Class of 2021, their EYW was on the 21st of April, and their decisions came out 23rd of March. Thats a difference of 27 days.
With class of 2020, their EYW was on the 15th of April, and their decisions came out the 21st of March. That’s a difference of 25 days.
With class of 2019, their EYW was on April 10th, and their decisions came out on the 20th of March, which is a difference of 21 days.
With class of 2018, their EYW was on April 10th as well, and their decisions came out on the 20th, which is a difference of 21 days as well.
THIS YEAR EYW is 12th April so results ??? This friday ??
@krtband geez, just thinking about when results is coming is sweaty I’m thinking latest 23rd! good luck, my friend!
Had a mail from college that it’s gonna be declared in a few days. So it can be any day now I guess
^same. When I saw the subject of the email though, “Regarding Yale-NUS College & Yale Admission Decisions,” my heart nearly lept out of my throat thinking that decisions were released.
But all the email says is basically:
a) Yale-NUS is finalizing decisions and we should expect them “soon” and “in the coming days.”
b) If anyone is still confused, Yale-NUS ≠ Yale University !! lol
Good luck everyone! We’re so close.
@amarmishra @kimtaehyung did both of y’all apply through Yale? I think only people who applied through Yale received that mail - not people who applied directly to YNC
Applied through commonapp Yale yes but I do t think that has a bearing to this mail. I trust this mail is basically to prepare the candidates for the first round results .
Correct me if I am wrong.
i do not think
I presume it would be out tomorrow
@wholesomebean I did apply through Yale. That would explain why they wanted to emphasize that the two schools are seperate! I personally didn’t need a reminder because I have an individual interest for each school. But it’s nice that they clarify just to make sure.
I’m pretty sure that email was sent out only to those who applied through Yale?
