Yale or MIT???

Which one would better prepare me for a top medical school. For MIT statistics, I found this website: http://web.mit.edu/career/www/preprof/top25medschools.pdf. Is there a similar one for Yale?

^ Given all your great admits (congrats!) would you consider Northwestern HPME now, given that it is a great school with a guaranteed admit to a very good med school?

I would say Yale, aznjunior.

Yale!!!

both will do a fine job preparing you.

make your decision based on other factors

Grade-inflated Yale is a no-brainer. Read thru MIT’s numbers critically – their average gpa for med admissions is HIGHER than the national average. Something seriously wrong with that stat.

yale. it’s pretty and i think you’ll have more fun

Like others have said above, decide for other reasons. Both places will prepare you excellently for whatever you want to do in life.

I made the decision to come to Yale over MIT last year and I’m having a great time so far. But this is your choice, so our advice may not always be that applicable. Visit both schools and see which one you get better vibes from. I think you’d rather be happier for four years than be infinitesimally more prepared for med school admissions.

Thanks! I’m still considering HPME, but not as much anymore. I don’t know if I want to spend another 7 or 8 years in the midwest. However, the guarantee into Feinberg is very tempting!

what sealed the deal for you? are you more a science or humanities person?

Also, what makes the decision even harder is that Yale is the only school offering me financial aid.

As a parent, this makes the decision much, much easier. But obviously, you are being tugged by MIT.
