Are your senior classes the highest offered at your school?

Yes they are.

yeah, I agree; i don't know how much time your internship takes, but those still aren't very rigorous courses--only comparitavely. You haven't given us too much to judge you on, so I don't really know your main interests. your sats, gpa and rank definitely give you a chance and your sports will help, but more than that is up to how you pull your app together, your essay, and sheer chance. also ... any previous aps? does your school offer them?

do you have any SATII's?

your school doesnt seem very competitive...but if its the highest level...
you would probably have to write very good essays and have very good reccs.
do you have any other ap classes from previous years?

No other AP's...I know, this school wasn't very good. Hm, oh how about my friend??

Yale-No
Harvard-No
Princeton-No

I got into Columbia with scores (1440) and classes similar to those because they are the highest offered although I did go extra length to take an independent study of Calculus BC because the school didn't offer it. I also went to Columbia's summer program. When easy classes are the best your schools has to offer, I think you really need to show that you can go to extra lengths to get into the Ivies. You really don't have anything that separates you from the pack and for that I give you a not likely, but you should try because you never know.

give it a try - anything's possible

Im not really sure, but i'm in a similar situation, i'm currently a sophomore, and my school offers only 3 AP courses, of course I will take them all, but this is ridiculous and unfair. I hate my school, this is seriously idiotic, they would rather help idiots pass than smarter people to excel, and that's what is happening. I also find it unofortunate that you need AP type courses even if your school doesn't offer them, highest available at your school doesn't cut it. They say they only care if you take the most rigorous courses, but they don't, realistically they would let anybody with AP classes in before people without. Unfair...so I don't know about your chances, but i'll surely keep an eye on this thread

well, its not the schools fault for not having AP's neccarily, many schools don't have more then 3 or 4...

Try taking ap classes online. they are easier and they raise for gpa. thats what i did.

well your courses dont seem very rigorous and you spelled journalism wrong... lol.. your SAT is in a good range although your weighted prob isnt that high due to your class schedule.. its certainly a reach but you have a good chance id say depending on other factors besides GPA and SAT

Your friend should be OK...I hope you have some other schools that you are applying to however.
