@fizzy110 @gettinonmynerve sighs rolls on floor in confusion melts into floor in anguish sighs
@gettinonmynerve Same here, plus I’m an international so I think that has some (slight) impact on decisions…
Only 2 more days though - at this point, it’s not the rejection that scares me as much as just not knowing what the outcome will be
@AnnaLuxe unfortunately I think it’s more than slight :(, a much smaller percentage of international students are admitted each year. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was some set quota or something similar (I’m an international too btw).
I have to ask you guys something. Decisions will come out while I’m at tennis practice, and I could easily check on my phone then, but not sure if doing this around my teammates is a good idea. In addition to Yale, The Ivies I applied to Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia (likely letter). Like probably everyone on this thread, I’m dying to find out my decisions, and get more anxious every minute it gets closer. Should I check while I’m at tennis practice, or 2 hours later at my house?
@adrianmcafee15 I would try to take a break during practice to “go to the bathroom” so you can check in private. If that’s not possible, then I’d probably wait until you got home IMO.
@adrianmcafee15 , my son’s school asked that everyone do their celebrating in a manner that wouldn’t cause pain for their classmates whose wishes didn’t get fulfilled. This was mostly directed at FB postings and the next school day, but I’d imagine that being around your teammates at the time would make being discreet even more difficult.
In a matter of days, and possibly hours, after the announcements, your friends will be happy for your successes and sympathetic for your disappointments, but right at the time, everyone is focused on their personal outcomes and in this regard, sharing less is better.
Good for you to think of this. Can you leave practice early? Your coach might be sympathetic (well, maybe).
Good luck.
@easycadence I’m so sorry but I’m sure you’re going to get into great schools!! Hang in there! Any school that rejects you- it’s their loss all the way.
I agree about WashU and Northwestern (the award winners of Tufts Syndrome yield padding) but not Duke. Duke tries to game the system mostly with likely letters and merit full rides. WashU and Northwestern try to game the system more by getting a feel for the applicant’s level of interest.
I am so crazily anxious. Since being deferred I feel like I’ve been waiting ages! To the question about #1 choice, I’d have to say Princeton is my number 1 with Yale at a close second. But I got rejected from bae, Stanford on Friday so my hopes for Yale is slightly diminished. But we won’t know till we know. Good Luck everyone!!
@adrianmcafee15 if i were you, i would wait until after practice. in the past, when big decisions came out , it affected my subsequent mood and performance far too greatly.
@adrianmcafee15 I would wait too, especially because you may not even be able to access the site at 5:00! The server is likely to become overwhelmed and lag because of the influx of logins, it happened with the ED decisions!! I’m no techie but I also think it would be even harder to access on your phone network if the server is lagging.
I think I may even wait until Wednesday to check my decision lol
are you all going to hover over collegeconfidential on decisions day or no? i’m not sure if it would be in my best interest anymore lol
Heeeey guys!
I have a quick question: I live in North California, so, does it still mean that I’ll be able to check my portal at 5:30pm or is it going to be around 2:30pm due time difference?
Thanks!
@Dream321 i believe it’ll be 2:30 pm because stanford’s decision was supposedly at 3 pm, but in my time zone, it was only at 5 pm that i could view it (california vs midwest)
I think you can start checking at 5:00 PM ET or 2:00 PM PT
@easycadence I’m pretty sure CC will crash on Ivy Day lol
@bvborussia tru dat haha
Cc will definitely crash. Ivy day will be a day to see where everyone’s loyalties lie because there will be no way to check other threads lol. Which will y’all choose?
Hey guys so I need some major help and I need your opinions!!! I was accepted into NEOMED- which is a 6 year med program- you do two years of undergrad and then 4 years of medical school- you have a guaranteed medical seat- do u think I should take this offer over an acceptance into an Ivy League undergrad?
How could you tell?
“Apparently Case was waitlisting people who they thought were applying there as a backup, so I feel a little better.”
@ Hersheybar 315 – Absolutely!! My husband did a seven year program and it was a great decision. If you know you are going to go into medicine those programs are great as they save you time and money. The worry of getting into Medical School and applying is gone as all you have to do is maintain a certain GPA and get a certain score on your MCAT. Coming from a family of doctors I am going to tell you it does not matter which college or medical school you attend in the US (unless you want research) because in the working world no body will care as long as you are board certified in your field. Good luck in what you choose!
