yale residential college

what are ezra stiles and morse like, besides the exterior pictures that I have found.
room size, bathrooms, food, beds, common room, etc. What is it like?

I'm sure I read somewhere on the Yale site that those two colleges are made up of mostly single rooms, which is awesome. That's all I know about them, besides the fact that they're fugly.

They don't believe in right angles. Seriously, it's really annoying because your beds don't line up with the walls, so there's this awkward triangular empty space. Also, Morse and Stiles are far away from everything, except for the gym--which is great for some folks. On the other hand, as freshmen, you live in Durfee (Morse) and Lawrence (Stiles). Both are pretty spacious. Durfee, however, gives you close access to the rest of Yale--read: less walking around in the harsh bitterness of the cold winter monthes. Morse has pretty good food. I think Morse and Stiles are connected via basement hallways. Durfee's suites are HUGE! Apartments practically, sans kitchen.

I'm not in either (thank God!).

Go Trumbull!!

thanks, one more thing, the form said to bring a fan for the summer but I heard that and stiles are air conditioned should I still bring a fan?

(common sense?: ) See if you get in stiles or morse. If not, bring a fan

ivyguy is clearly talking about the summer, in which case, he will be in either Stiles or Morse. Even if they're air conditioned, bring a fan anyway. If the air conditioner ever breaks--which I doubt would happen--it's nice to know that you won't be dying of heat. It's just one more thing to carry, and if you're driving there, one extra thing won't matter at all.

thanks sprezzatura

My daughter lives in Stiles and it is not air conditioned. But it is true that pretty much everybody gets a single, or at least a walk through double, from sophomore year on. Morse & Stiles are really not in a bad location at all -- across the street from the gym, a half block from the library, next door to the bookstore and Broadway stores. Plus the desks are built in and enormous.

thanks veteranmom

Of course, seeing as how we don't get to choose our college, these discussions are for the most part moot.

if i get in.....i'd LOVE to be in Saybrook....
