@ everyone else in this thread
I’ll probably major in chemistry. I hope to go to med school so the sciences make the most sense and I love chemistry!
I spoke to myself yesterday and convinced myself that rejection/deferral isn’t the end of the world.
Today in school every person is talking how on Thursday their friends will be studying at Yale and MIT. Teachers I never told I applied asked me today how I feel few days before being accepted. My counselor came up to me(she never does, we barely ever talk to counselors in Poland) and said that she hopes I will be the first ever student in Ivy League from our school… Like really, this does not help! I know I shouldn’t care about what others think but Im not a fan of such pressure when I can’t do anything anyway right now… I really want to get this Thursday over with
Hey guys! I’ve been following this thread for a few weeks now but finally decided to join the community
Do you think international homeschooled applicants are disadvantaged during the process? Although I’m from a very unique background, my homeschooling was fairly easy compared to regular curriculum… but that was all the opportunities that I had, and I think I made the most of it. I wasn’t able to get an interview though…
Hey, nice to see someone in my situation. I’m from Georgia and Yale usually accepts 1 Georgian a year. I found out today that my counselor told literally the whole school that I had interviews this past week. Now I feel responsible towards the whole school. Not nice
My daughter who is also named Rebecca wants to study English/Psychology/Neuroscience. I hope the 2 Rebecca’s will meet in an English class at Yale.
@jhosk10 I love the sciences too!
I put down undecided, chemistry, and psychology. Love the fact my calc teacher moved the test from the 15th to 16th… that’s gonna be the third test in a row I can’t focus on ;-;
I live in Georgia too and that is 0% true. Someone from my school went to a party for students who were accepted early in Georgia, and she said that there were more than 20 people. Georgia is one of the bigger states.
Georgia the US State or Georgia the Country?
Georgia the state obv, I wouldn’t refer to myself as Georgian if I were american
I believe the Demonym for a person from Georgia state is still Georgian.
People from the country Georgia are also Georgian.
Gosh I mean the country
Sorry guys, so it’s georgia the country that’s why I called myself Georgian. Caused a lot of confusion meanwhile pardon
State also means a country so I get why there was confusion.
@hhjjlala yeah that’s why I wrote the state straight away without thinking about the confusion
How much does which state you are from affect the process? I’m from Rhode Island and I know that there are tons of Rhode Islanders at Brown but I don’t know any at Yale.
@rebecca12345 Looks like you might meet another English major with your name! @Houston1021
Hi Guys! I’m new on this thread, but with apps coming out soon, I couldn’t resist the urge to join in! I set up a countdown timer to get rid of some anxiety because for a while during this week, it really felt like time had stopped, and Thursday would never come. I’ve linked it here:
Hopefully, it calms some of you down! We’re almost there!
@Yalietobe I didn’t think about that, how embarrassing for me. Sorry for misunderstanding!
