@CultureVulture Yeah, the deferral can be somewhat unnerving, but at least then you still have a shot at going to a school like this! It’s really a considerable achievement. And with a deferral, you can, or get your college counselors (assuming you have those) to call the school and ask what the chances are of getting in, and whether or not you still really have any kind of shot. At least, that’s what my counselor recommended.

I’m very nervous, as I’m sure many of y’all are too, but I’m reminded of something my Yale interviewer told me as we said goodbye – so much of the college admission process is determined by luck. The person reading your application might have been distracted by something in their personal life or have gotten a cold that day, causing them to read your application already with negative feelings. Every admissions committee is different, and much of the decisions process is based on their personal preferences. So whatever decision we receive, don’t take it to heart! <3 best of luck to y’all.

@JayZ42424 I’m guessing they’re updating the portal with applicant decisions. Last year this happened too, and people thought it went alphabetically.

did anyone receive an email from yale confirming a release time or an access pin? I know Cornell did something of this sort and I’m wondering if I missed something

The Yale admissions instagram said results would be posted at approx 5 pm
Can we please stop analyzing such things and just wait two more hours? It just stresses people out and nothing can be drawn from it at that moment. All decisions are made and won’t be changed now, let’s just patiently wait until they are clearly posted on the portal
