What do you guys think? Thank you so much! I am hoping my emphasis on female leadership in my essays (I chose a unique topic) and my Costume Drive helps me a little bit. Thanks again!

I would honestly say to not go with Yale, it’s a pretty solid reach for you and your early may be worth more going towards a lower reach. That’s the kind of a pessimistic opinion, but I think that would be the right one. I plan to apply early to Yale, but that’s only because I have a perfect ACT, really solid GPA, pretty solid ECs and then legacy of my mother, 2 brothers, and both parents working for Yale at some point. And even then I’m not totally sure it’s worth it as getting into these top ivies is such a shit show.

Honestly though, either choice I’m sure you’ll get somewhere fine. Apply where you really want to, if you really want Yale then just apply there early. Don’t let yourself regret not applying there if you think you truly could have a solid chance!

@Surole thank you so much…I definitely agree. I wish you the best of luck!

I agree with Surole in that you should go for Yale if you feel that you will regret not applying early. You definitely are a competitive applicant and for schools like Yale, there’s really no way to predict admission results.

You say you have an anxiety issue and that is why are not in honors math? How about the idea that you just are not as good at math as you are other subjects? Why would you explain more in an application? In most ways, applying to college is a lot like applying to jobs. Who will you hire? The person with anxiety issues or one that simply is less good at math than other topics but does fine? True confessions on an application won’t get you brownie points. I would say that having an anxiety issue begs the question about why you’d want to go to a highly competitive college however.

Consider someone who is less good at math is simply less good at math. Someone with anxiety issues has anxiety issues and is less good in math.

@lostaccount I wrote how the issue was resolved and I level changed back and it wont affect anything in the future in college

@redrabbit23 thank you so much!! :),

Definitely apply to Yale, use your EA/ED slot for the #1 college you would like to attend. If you don’t, you’re definitely going to regret it. Plus i think you’ll get into BC RD anyways

I don’t see any specific passion that you really emphasize on your apps. What I mean is that if I’m the reader, all I see are just a bunch of activities (not saying that they’re bad; they’re quite amazing in fact). Though, being well-rounded is a false notion that everyone seems to want to be. Focusing on a specific passion or major of interest in your ec’s will give you the best chance.
Chance back?

I think Yale is a reach and applying early will not increase your chances. You will get deferred at best. BC is not a lock, but applying early could give you a boost. I would apply to BC early as it is not binding and then apply to Yale regular

@ayyyyy @wisteria100 I think I am going to apply to BC early. Thank you!
