Yale Singly early action or not? Am I even good enough? Be honest. Love all you guys!

IMHO yes, as there is less of a difference between a 34 and a 36 then there is between a 29 and a 34. Your ACT isn’t bad though other than the one score. My son had similar scores with a 35 composite but his lowest was a 33 in math. He also has 36’s in reading and science.

P.S. I still stress the essays are the most important factor for your chances at admission. You have many stats that are good enough, but then again so did many other students who were rejected.

Well I’m not asking for a sure thing or I wouldn’t be on here. I was just curious if I have a chance at all whether than be 1/2 chance or a 1/10000000 chance  Just a chance. Also, this could be me. But it seems like there is alot of luck involved! Such as if the admissions officer relates to your essay or not. For example, if I were to write about Barbies and the admissions officer can relate to it, it will stick out in her mind. Bad example. But I do feel maybe some of it is just luck?

I wouldn’t say luck but they have read enough essays to know if you spend 30 minutes or 30 hours on it. I am exaggerating slightly but you get the point.

Well I feel like there is so much you can do. Like sure I can have someone read my essay and have professors fix every aspect of it. But I don’t want my personality clouded by all the fixing. Yes I will have many people look it over. But I want it simple, concise, and “me”.

Please don’t say it is luck… In 21 years of my life so far… luck never turned out in my favor at important situations…

Damn!! where could I get that luck from?

I know someone who had a 2400 but got into P and rejected at H and Y… to some degree variance, i.e. luck, is involved.
