Could submitting a STEM research paper to Yale negatively impact one’s chances of admission? My work did not win a Siemens award, but it is still impressive. Is it worth it to take the risk? How much of an advantage could it provide?
We debated that when DS was applying. He was a co-author on research published in a peer reviewed journal. He submitted an additional LoR from the research head, and iirc, a link to the research.
YMMV, but he did not think submitting the paper itself would be a good idea.
