I have 1 week to decide between RIce and Yale. Financially I received $69,000 from Rice (spread over 4 years) plus research, and about $9000 per year in financial aid from Yale ($45,000 over four years if nothing changes for me in terms of money). I'm not sure what field I want to go into, but I was thinking about Econ, Psych, Pre-Law. I'm unsure what to decide. I appreciate any help, info or suggestions.
Thanks

Yale is among the top five (if not the very top, #1) psychology, econ and pre-law departments in the country, while Rice is usually not top 20; it would be hard for me to choose Rice over Yale if I were seriously interested in those fields. Also, having visited both campuses I would say that Yale's residential system is much stronger than Rice's, from a social life as well as a material sense, in terms of funding, resources, lectures, professor involvement, etc., even though they have similar names.

In terms of Pre-Law, see a discussion here:

Financially, it's a difficult call but I think that, assuming you like both schools, between the two you will consider choosing Yale the best decision you ever make. The low-interest student loans will seem negligable once you graduate and later on in your career.
