Yale vs. Oxford

Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to make my final decision. What does everyone think? I will eventually be working back in Pakistan in a family business. From what I have seen, the Yale program sounds more interesting to me and I may have an opportunity to learn a lot more in the two years than in the 1 year. Especially since my background is studying Computer Science from Columbia and working at Deutsche Bank NYC doing application development. On the other hand, Oxford would be a change of atmosphere, and will get me back in Pakistan working in a year.

The only ranking that I saw that had the two schools compared is FT and in that Yale wins out 10 to 19.

I'd appreciate any thoughts and help. This is one decision that I don't find at all easy! Both great schools with great names, where I can learn a lot.

Thanks!

I'd choose Yale if it were between SOM (Yale) vs. Said (Oxford).

However, Said is not the best b-school in the UK / Europe -- not by a longshot - i.e. if you were to choose between, say, Yale SOM vs. INSEAD, I'd go with INSEAD (particularly given the advantages of the INSEAD / Wharton Alliance).

Hey, thanks for the reply. Do you think you could give me some reasons for SOM being a better bet than Said? Has anyone heard anything about Yale's curriculum changes? Have they been effective?

Thanks
