Yalites: What do you think of my College ECs?

This is mainly addressed to current Yale students (no offence to the others but past experiences around here just tell me that they have the most experience). I'm a transfer hopeful from Canada and would like your opinion on my ECs. I know theres only space for a handful of them on the application so which ones (if any) do you think stand out the most?

Business Department Marketing research assistant (8 months now. getting great recommendation from my professor there),

English assistant teacher at a centre which helps immigrants adapt to the North American setting,

Doctors without borders translator.

Debate team for international commerce games (college-level).

Entrepreneurship: Founder of a local summer sports camp for low-income elementary school kids. Received government funding for it.

Marketing Coordinator of Sustainability Initiative to have the university lower its consummations and become ecologically responsible.

Liberal/democratic political party campaign assistant

DEFI marketing competition

Montreal Association for Church Architecture Preservation (not a religious person per say but the buildings in this city are close to ruin)

Museum volunteer (7 hours a week)

Yearly breast-cancer run

Rapid wall-climbing competition (province-ranked)

Jazz festival coordinator (seasonal: summer only)

currently: running for college politics

Considering:
- Kenneth Woods Portfolio Management (basically a finance thing where a group of selected students manage an actual stock account of1.5 million dollars funded by the school. it sounds fancy and may look good on paper but my problem is that it takes a LOT of your time (already full schedule) and that its another 'business-related EC which may or may not be redundant since Im hoping to transfer from a bcom to an english major)

Thanks in advance for your opinions and have a nice day :)

I think it's tough to give you a knowledgeable opinion because most of us got in under normal admissions and not the more rigorous transfer status. From what I've read, the most salient features of a transfer applicant are your current academic performance and the ability to convey a compelling reason as to why you wish to transfer into Yale.

From what I can tell, your ECs look great. I just don't know how much they will factor into your application chances.

Good luck to you. THe more canadians the better!!! (I'm one too)

Thanks.

I know ECs count but I dont know to what extent. Someone once told me that it was just as important as grades for a sophmore transfer. RIght now Im knee-deep in research to write a good 'why yale' segment that goes beyond 'dude, it's Yale.'

I've known transfer students with no ECs at their original college. These people had 4.0s from USNWR top 20 universities and great "why Yale" reasons. I can't imagine that ECs don't count at all, but for what my anecdotal experience is worth, they seem subservient to other factors.
