Yellow Dot next to categories?

<p>Alrighty, I feel incredibly ridiculous asking this, but when does the yellow dot beside each category appear?</p>

<p>I've been paying a lot of attention but I can't see any correlation from updates to threads I've posted in, etc. etc.</p>

<p>I'm sure the answer is incredibly simple and I'll be banging my head on the desk once someone tells me, but I still have to ask.</p>

<p>A yellow circle beside a thread means that someone posted in that thread since you were last on CC. If there's a star on the circle, it means that you posted in the thread. Make sense?</p>
