naive newbie question

OK, don't make fun of me.... But I've been trying to find a short-cut way to tell if the boards of the subset of colleges I'm interested in have new postings or not. It just occurred to me that maybe those yellow dots by some entries on the alphabetic list just might mean something! I don't spot a key to the symbols. So what exactly do the yellow dots mean? Does it mean there has been a posting there in the past 24 hours, or something helpful like that?

Yellow dot means a college or some colleges starting with that letter have had a recent post. Try search option (in dark blue bar at top of all pages) for the colleges you are interested in and check the most recent posts to see what has been added. Sometimes the colleges you are looking for appear elsewhere besides on that college's page.

If you open the forum for a college of interest to you and click on the "Forum Tools" icon (at the top of the "Last Post" column of list of threads on the right hand side of the screen), you will be able to subscribe to that forum. Once subscribed, your Control Panel will let you know if there have been any posts on that forum.

Thanks, csleslie & ADad. I'll try that. Sounds like just what I was looking for!
