Regular calculus, i don’t think id survive AP Calc @cavsiers234
Ah I see, my school doesn’t even offer regular calculus only AP lol. I’ll still take it though, it will still look really good to colleges.
A high school calculus course that is less rigorous than AP calculus AB (which covers a semester of calculus over a year in high school, so it is already a less rigorous option than BC or a college calculus course) is probably not worth rushing your math courses to get to. Learn your algebra, geometry, and trigonometry well in high school so that you are ready for calculus in college, if you need it for your major.
That’s good that you’re maintaining an A in your math class. The question is, do you think you can take pre calc on the summer, get an A, and then take calculus and get an A or B? Rushing through pre calc only to struggle in Calculus is worse than “just” having pre calc. If you have a strong base, you’ll do fine in college even if others had taken calculus in high school.
I agree with UCB, learn your algebra, geometry, make sure you are solid on your trig in high school.so you are ready to learn calculus.
Do not make decisions based on what you think colleges “like” during the admissions process. Do what will make you the strongest possible student going into college.
Calc really isn’t that bad until you get to more advanced stuff (calc 2) I am not a math person (670 math SAT) but I got an A in ap calc this year and I found it more interesting than painstaking.
I enjoy math to an extent. i don’t hate it, but I’m not at 670m SAT yet
Thanks @LanaH100 Im definitely going to give it my best shot next year as long as i do well this summer in pre-calc. I pray its not a killer in 6 weeks
