YES (Young Epidemiology Scholars)

It's this collegeboard thing.

Does anybody know anything about it? had experience with it? Know what the level of competition is like?

Thanks

p.s. I would've searched about YES in the forums, but only 4 letter words or more are accepted to be searchable

rretrterger

I was wondering this too. I got an email about it today.

This is a big research project thing and it is fairly competitive at the national level.

Go here: http://www.collegeboard.com/yes/

There is a certain beauty to this research project. The project can be conducted with high school classmates and does not have to be some intensive reasearch conducted in a lab. The winner this past year studied the impact of condom education on High School students. Another winners studied short sleeping hours and its relation with obesity.

i would encourage everyone to do some study like these and enter the competition.

I emailed and asked if I could do a project on the effects on college students who have high blod pressure they said it was grat but I don't know how I would go about doing the research.

Anyone know if it's prohibited to enter this competition and use the same project to enter, say, the local science fair?

look at the rules or email them

A post above mentioned an email invitation. My son did not get anything yet!

I and most of my friends received invitations to this either by email or snail mail last year. I would've loved to do this, but didn't have the time. If you can do it and are interested in epidemiology at all, go for it. It looked interesting.
