Yess

There is an engineering/summer research program called YESS at CalTech, but the online site says that it is only for "underrepresented minorities in math/science like Native Americans, Lations, and African americans." I am asian, so can I still apply for it? And would it be a prestigious program for me? Thanks!

BUMP???????? please answer.

Ask yourself this: do you consider yourself an underrepresented minority in math/science?

^ well..on the website it says that "others can apply as well" butttt I was wondering if the majority of people there were going to be URM's?

YESS Program Application

"Who Should Apply:
Outstanding high school sophomores and juniors who are traditionally underrepresented in science and engineering fields ( Native Americans, Latinos, and African-Americans). Others who believe they would benefit from this program are also encouraged to apply."

That said, there are about 30 spots for approximately 500 applicants, so chances are low for anyone, and likely even more so for non-URMs.
