Columbia
Princeton
Amherst
NYU
Northwestern
Boston College
University of Chicago

+Gun ur SAT down (2200+)
+“wrap up” ur debate in ur essays. emphasize it as it is internationally, sth unique of u, then i call it

Amherst
NYU
Northwestern
Boston College
University of Chicago Possible Matches
Ivies are reaches for everyone.
check out some safety schools also
and dont apply aid plz, esp for NYU, and BC

Hi, I was just wondering wht TAHUNGANH said ‘dont apply aid plz’…

Hullomate - I think you have really great chances at getting into those schools, if you check the common application or college board website you will see that your SAT grades are really good for all of them. I am guessing all you really need to do at this moment is make a great admission essay for those uni’s, and emphasize your strengths and the fact that you grew up at a different surrounding from most applicants (being an international student).

What are you majoring in? If its into arts and sciences I would say Match
Boston College
New York University
Northwestern
University of Chicago
Amherst College

If you can get your SATs up to 2200+ I would say that you have a good shot at the Ivies.

Hi cammms
being intenational myself, i saw my seniors got “wasted”, denied admission when applying aid even though their capabilities are there. NYU and BC do not provide aid to internationals. as well as the aid is extremely limited to other schools on her list, well maybe except amherst?

As TAHUNGANH said, NYU and BC do not provide financial aid to international students.

…# of Int’l Students…# Awarded Aid…Average Award

Amherst College…112…75…$38,395
Columbia University…848…34…$25,000
Northwestern University…401…10…$39,300
Princeton University…414…91…$24,774
University of Chicago…363…30…$35,500

Update: Apparently I’m “hooked” (and not on crack)

My mother knows some people (who know me of course) that might be able to put in a good word for me.

For instance, a pretty important figure (ex prime minister, ex minister of economy, and current presidential candidate) is one of my mother’s best friends and coworkers and also a princeton interviewer who agreed to write me a reccomendation.

Also she knows one of the department heads at harvard but i dont know him.

I know the last one probably wont help me, but will the recommendation boost my chances? (He has known me since I was very young)
