<p>"For the fall 2006 semester, about half of the 4,462 freshman applicants who applied for early decision were accepted, according to UF statistics. </p>
<p>The total number of freshman applicants that were accepted was 7,656, out of 25,935 who applied."</p>
<p>That's a 29.5% overall acceptance rate; 20% regular decision acceptance rate. MUCH lower than previous years.</p>
<p>The NCAA successes have got to have something to do with this. More and more OOS applicants are turning heads and looking south. Way south. UF is turning into a very competitive public university.</p>
