<p>this board is depressing as hell. getting waitlisted/rejected from princeton may seem like a big deal now but considering the 21,000 or so kids you were up against it’s still a grand accomplishment. Im sure 20 years from now, or even 6 months from now you won’t care nearly as much.</p>
<p>If you hated us enough wouldn’t you refrain from touching our contaminated goodies?</p>

<p>I called the admissions dept yesterday and asked if they were still going to use the waitlist, and the lady said that it will still be technically open until the end of June and that it’s difficult to tell the real size of the class, but she made it seem not an impossibility to still get the call.</p>
<p>It’s a form of trickle down. Princeton, say, may presently be at capacity, but Harvard and MIT appear to be taking a significant number of students from their wait lists. Perhaps some of them had previously committed to Princeton. If those students make the switch, spots open up at Princeton and so on.</p>
