I know that everyone, definitely including me, is getting very anxious about ED decision. We all dream about getting into Columbia since childhood, middleschool, etc. We would be thrilled to death and feel extremely lucky when we are accepted. We would be drown in desperation when we arent.

I just want all of you to know that no matter what the decision is, we are all in this together. We need to be proud that we are motivated, devoted, and courageous enough to chase our dreams. Years later when we recall this time in our lives, no matter what will happen in the next few days, I am sure time will heal all the sadness and leave us with nevertheless sweet memories. We fought for what we wished for. This attribute is something we all need in our bright futures.

Good luck to all of you, and to myself. I hope we would all be at our best moods when we see the decisions.

haha, I dont doubt there are people dreaming about ivy leagues since childhood though. even if we dont really know what ivy leagues are about, we simply know that they are great, and want to acquire it.

middleschool is pretty early nonetheless :P

“Since childhood,” absolutely! Not Columbia, though. If you had asked me what Columbia was up until maybe eighth grade, I probably would’ve told you a sportswear company or a country. But this is very true for ED applicants. My dad used to dress me up in Harvard gear as a child. I have a picture beside my sink of myself lighting a candle in a “Harvard class of 20??” sweatshirt that is dated 1995. Even if I didn’t prepare and gauge myself toward the Ivy League, because I had no idea what it took, I always pondered it and wanted to attend a great school, like Harvard (and in my case, I prefer Columbia). This resonated with me, and I’m sure many others. Thanks for the kind words @eachdaycounts

Not gonna lie, I’m on the opposite spectrum. My parents don’t really care where I go to college. I wanted to go to MIT my whole life, but went to Columbia like 2 weeks before deadline and decided to ED to it. Thanks for the kind words/support @eachdaycounts!

You are welcome guys! It’s nice to know that others are feeling what you are feeling at the same time, right? (sorry, but just right now I thought about CC’s core and how everyone will be reading the same materials at the same time…“feel what you feel”…>< psssshhh sorry)

Thanks eachdaycounts! I know it sounds lame, but I guess I’m one of those who have been dreaming of Columbia since childhood. It’s been a family hope for awhile, and best of luck to all of you.
