So does “still being considered” basically a sign of rejection at this point?

I’m completely dumb founded, as I know numerous people at my school who have the same if not worse stats that have already gotten accepted. In fact, since mid February, I’ve been the only person from my school that hasn’t heard from Irvine yet.

@Sleeet I applied for CompSci and haven’t heard back yet, but I know atleast one person at my school who has been accepted for CS.

I just got my first rejection from UCSD TT_TT. No one in my school has gotten anything from UCI except the Regent kids in February and I’m now scared of UCI because I’m afraid that they’ll reject me again and break my heart again like SD did. SD has made me feel crappy and worthless, and now I’m scared that UCI will reject me as well. I feel like I have no choice but to go to Cal States D:

I just got into UCSD right now, and I got into UCI… But because I’d much rather go to UCSD, I was wondering how I can cancel my acceptance, to give a chance for people who are still waiting more of a chance?

These are exactly my thoughts. As disappointed as we are, we have no choice but to continue on. If we got into other schools besides them(any cal states or community?), we’ll have to at least keep up our grades to have a chance not being thrown out by colleges that HAVE accepted us(UCR and the Cal States accepted me and are my safety nets). Good luck with dealing with your rejection :(. We all need to recover from these UCs :(.

you are being considered for the Biological Sciences major.
Preferred Major: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Alternate Major: COMPUTER ENGINEERING…
I could not afford to apply to state schools, i am left with ucsb and uci. Its what ever now, ill just go through high school doing nothing. Even if i fail all my classes, ill still end up graduating with honors. No point in putting effort in any classes at this point.

I don’t mean to offend you or insult you in anyway when I say this, but isn’t cal states technically cheaper and easier to get in than UCs? I know you want UCs, and so do I, but for me, UCs aren’t my safety nets since I don’t have that much fate in my grades(3.8 GPA) and a passive extracurricular schedule. But it’s too late, so I wouldn’t worry over this if I were you. In the worse case scenario, there will be community college for us with transfers.

@toosie- Yeah, I know. The worst part of it all is when everyone around you had faith that you would get into all of these greats schools and then a big wave of reality comes and knocks you down. :/

this is exactly the way i feel, i am not sure how to break this down to my parents. I feel like a complete failure at this point. I am really baffled. Is my fate at a community college?
