"You are 'STILL' being considered..."

oh my gosh i couldnt agree more!
and seeing other people with the same stats if not worse get in is like a kick in the ass

community college anyone? dam my hopes of becomming a doctor…crash and burn. hmmm maybe ill be a high school p.e coach lol

@Andrew dam i feel ya man! all my hardwork in high school and come to find out that it didn’t matter at all…

last week ucla, this week ucsd. Please… i really want ucsb or irvine (sniff sniff)

RIGHT!

The way I think of it though to make make myself feel better is they applied for a different major than I did. :/

Doesn’t really make it all better, but that’s the only justification that I can give myself.

Hahah heyy!

I plan on being a high school English teacher.

If I don’t go to a UC, I will attend Cal State Fullerton.

From what I’ve heard, they have a good teaching program. :)

I still feel like a failure as well. :/

But then I think of a Cal State and think, “I could’ve just slacked off in high school and got a C average and still gotten in.”

That’s what makes me upset the most.

I wouldn’t say I wasted time in high school, because I learned a lot and pushed myself to do more.

But I’m just frustrated that I will end up with the kids that didn’t really give everything they had in high school.

Anyone get me? :/

I’m guessing the majority of us are CSE or CS majors that havent heard back yet?

:(
does anyone know the admit rate for those who are waitlisted at ucsd?

Man, UCI’s just depressing. They should just come out with decisions already, right guys?

Ok guys, calm down. So you didn’t get into a UC. So what? You can still do the transfer from community college to UCs or other private schools. Med schools or any school doesn’t care that you went to community college before doing the transfer. They only care WHERE you graduated. Please understand that.

I understand your positions since I too used to fear community college as a sign of failure, but that’s not true! If you go to UC and failed the classes, it would be worse. So take it easy. You know that community college transfers have higher average GPAs than native UCs have, right? They have higher chances to getting into UCs than high school seniors do. You can still become a doctor through the transfer route. Just finish your requirement classes(GEs), transfer and finish your major, graduate, and get a job or go to grad school. Have some fate in yourselves.

My dad used to be the guy who hated community colleges and looked down at them too, but now he understands that its only where you graduate that counts and how well you did it. But I do hope that you get into UCI. All of you.

I’m really thinking that Monday will be the day.

Monday is the day for UCSB too.

Fingers crossed :)

@kayjc6
Good luck with Santa Barbara! What major are you going for?

@rainsonata- Thank you! English. :)

@kay i feel yah lol…tis a shame that i decided what i wanted to be too late in highschool…that way i could have pushed myself further. But now that im more serious in school(true asian) i kinda wanted to get into a UC cus im sick of being stuck with a bunch idiots that don’t take schools seriously and only go there focusing on immature relationships that won’t last…now im feel like ima end up with the same people for a few more years. Its harder than you think to push myself in school when everybody else is kicking back and having a good time…i mean my freshmen year in highschool i was stuck with the worst possible classmates, and it took out a lot of me to really stick it out, and not get into drugs and smoking…although.i kinda…nvm lol

@rainsonata i get what you’re saying but it just sucks to do all this hard work in highschool, take APs, do alot of ECS, and what not just to go to a CC where they dont even matter

@rainsota thank bro, i am not afraid of not being accepted, i do no want to carry around the stigma of going to a community college. My parents, my family, and my friends will look down upon me. :(

@andrew same here

Do you think the admission pattern will be like last years? Those who didn’t get accept yet… will be notified eventually all at once , with a rejection?

But what I don’t understand is that this year, not a lot of people heard back from UCI yet… =/ hoping and praying </3

@amigos- Hahaha don’t every worrry.

We all have ours stories. XD

Lol well, maybe not everyone, because some people really do focus on JUST school.

That wasn’t my case though.

I started off high school without honors, then gradually I acquired them.

I also got involed with raves, parties, gigs.

You name it.

I’ve had a boyfriend for a year and seven months.

So yeah, I wouldn’t be your model, straight A high school student.

Lol.

But I’ve managed to maintain a weighted GPA of 3.96. :)

So I’d say i did pretty well.

I think that this will all work out though. :)

Let’s hope. :smiley: lol. XD

@rains dam thxs for the advice! i honestly needed that…pumped me up. i miss my parents though…wish i never moved to california just to end up like this(prolly the reason im so sad). but thanks for the encouragement. good luck to you as well, hey ya nevver know like few years from now i cud be giving the same advice to kids stressin out with the things we stressin out about now lol.
