"You are 'STILL' being considered..."

@ amigos Same here… i worked so hard the last 2 years getting straight A’s to go to a community college…

@kay haha your life seems fun, yeah everyone’s story is different. “Life has a way of working itself out” i always forget to remind myself that everyday

@toosie and Andrew69
I’m sorry about both of your situations. If this was November, I would have told you guys to try Cal States(did you?) and use it as a backup, but I guess it’s too late for that. Judging by what you guys told me, your APs will probably take over a lot of your CC classes. That’s good though, that means you can get out of there earlier than most people. You can even think about signing up early in the Spring or something, depending on how early you finish your GEs. Just make sure you talk to your counselors to make sure that you fit the UC you want to go to’s GEs before making your transfers. Make sure that the classes you take are transferable to your UCs too.

For the pride thing, I can only tell you to swallow it up. Just ignore the mocking that people might throw and think about how much money you’ll be saving. People at UCs and privates will have lots of money in debt before going to grad schools while you’ll have barely any money to make up for. That’s something to be happy about.

Oh, and I’m a girl, lol. I thought my girly username would have given that away.

@tt:
Same here! At my school, I only heard the Regent kids get in back in February. The normal kids haven’t gotten anything yet!

@andrew “i do no want to carry around the stigma of going to a community college.” we true asians lol!..oh well the “i couldn’t afford university is a good excuse” ;). but after reading rains post i gues its not that bad…will just take longer to transfer cus the budget cuts?

@amigos- Lol well, I’m a white girl living in a strictly minority, low-income area of La Puente, California.

Where the hell is that, right? XD

Haha.

It’s kind of hard not to get involved in your surroundings when they’re being thrown at you from every different direction.

Exactly, we will all end up where we desire, no matter what path we have to take to get there.

I honestly believe that. :)

i was hoping to meet some hot asian girls in ucla and ucsd >< ■■■

@Andrew
One word: Triton’s eye.

@kay “we will all end up where we desire, no matter what path we have to take to get there.” haha dam ima steal your quote and put it in my fb wall lmao! j/p but dam i guess theres more people with the same situation as us then i thought. Lmao! @Andrew’s post!

@Andrew
Your comment is so amusing (Asian girl).

@Andrew
Sick of nerdy asian girls?

No, nerdy asian girls are my type, i want a cute looking one though >< call me shallow, idc :)

Well, good luck with that, lol. You got years.

@amigos I don’t know why there’s this ridiculous stigma associated with community colleges. It’s not bad at all. You save tons of money, you have time to figure out exactly what you want to do, and you get to start all over with your grades… if you attend a community college near a state school, it’s also highly likely you’ll even get a lot of the same faculty. It may sound lame to tell nosy grownups and overachieving friends that you’re headed to a CC, but that’s because they’re stupid and think it’s better to spend 4 years at a crappy school then start out in community college. Rest assured, the kids who paid 5x the tuition for the exact same general education will look like the morons in two years-- not you. I attended a CC for two years and I’m successfully transferring out now. If you have any questions, you can reply or shoot me a PM. I’ll be glad to clear up the misconceptions about community colleges.

And I totally didnt see all these other people who had responded. Stupid iPhone lol. Sorry.

portal change happened at 8PMish for us, and email came out at 3AM PST
