<h1>8: Not at all. However, residence halls have themes (like Leadership, Academic excellence, Arts, etc), so you might be living with a bunch of engineering majors if you choose to live in the Engineering/ICS theme hall, for example.</h1>
<h1>9: Again, it’s better than you’d expect. We actually have a really good baseball team (they’re consistently ranked #1 or #2 in the big west conference for div 1), and they’ve held the big west regional baseball tournament at UCI.</h1>
<p>We also have a fantastic men’s volleyball team. They’ve won the national championship twice in the last three years. I watched them beat USC in my freshman year on TV with a bunch of students at the Anthill Pub (an on campus hang out).</p>
<p>I feel like interest in sports and school spirit is a lot better than it was when I started only a couple years ago. One thing that’s awesome is that it’s free for all UCI students to get into any athletic event.</p>
<h1>10: The UC’s in general are not that generous in terms of giving grant money (basically no strings attached money they give you to try to encourage you to come). It seems like most financial aid is in the form of federal loans. However, I believe the UC’s have a policy where you pay no tuition if your family makes under a certain amount ($74,000/year, I believe). Keep in mind that the UC’s at the moment are an absolutely fantastic value, even with tuition going up.</h1>
