I’m waiting for Cambridge before making a decision. I think I really like Chicago, would definitely not mind being there, but I don’t want to commit myself until I see their offer (if I, hopefully, get an offer :P).

My acceptance of a spot in the class is contingent on my HYPS and Penn decisions along with the preliminary financial aid estimate.

Like most other people, finaid is pretty much what’s stopping me right now.

if you wait to post your agreement to go to the school do you still have a good chance of getting the dorm you want? I still want to hear back from Brown before I accept at UofC because they are my two top choices

@ privera: You have a good chance of getting into any of the dorms, with the exception of Snell-Hitchcock. That one fills up early with EA applicants who send in their deposits the day they get their acceptance letter.

Just to clarify, EA students are given their choice of dorms before RD students, even if the EA students wait until April to deposit. I think the cutoff date for that is April 15, though I’m not positive on that. So if EA students submit before April 15, they’ll have a good chance of getting their first-choice dorm.

Again, by no means should anyone rush into this decision because of dorm choice. Just chill and take your time on your college decision.

Also, pay attention to the Class of 2014 Facebook group if you haven’t been doing so already. The discussions there will be a lot more reflective of actual student life than the discussions on here, since there is such a wide variety of current students who post there.
