You guys won't believe this...

So today, I got the info in the mail that says who my roommate is gonna be. I facebook him, and after several searches, I finally track him down (his name has 4 parts). I add him as a friend, and I also send him a message that tells him that I am his roommate.

So all went well, right? WRONG!. After sending him the message, I notice that this guy already has over 100 friends on facebook who are on the UCSC network. This seemed odd to me, since technically he wasn't attending yet. So, I checked his UCSC email address listed on his facebook profile with the UCSC email address provided to me by UCSC, and sure enough, they were 2 different people! This was one awkward way to start the college 'journey'.

It is possible that there are two people at UCSC with the same first AND last name...

ugh.. they messed up on my roommates too

haha. what are the odds?!?!

at the way things are going... pretty likely

Is it possible to request a certain roommate?

Yes it is, but they need to request you too. You will only be put together if you both make the same request.

I just recently turned in my acceptance of admission to UCSC along with which I paid the fee, and listed my college choices.

It was an 8 step process but none of those steps included a survey of what kind of room (single, double, triple) you want to be in or questions like music preference, tidiness, the usual roommate match-up kind of questions, etc...

When do we get to answer those kinds of questions (pick our type of room, answer roommate questions)? Once they've already assigned us a college? So mid-May??? or when?

can you request a roomate of certain race? lol

^^^ Hahahhahahahhahahahha

i was only kidding >:)
