I would assume that macs are more popular therefore the school is more compatible with macs, I am currently at a laptop middle school and I have a friend who is one of the two kids in the grade with a windows and when she doesn't have an app (that only macs have) or if she is having a problem, most of the teachers are not able to help her. I would suggest a mac in a school.

exeter ismore of a pc school

My interviewer said most schools give you two options. Buy a laptop from their list(They give you a few options or maybe just 1) OR buy a laptop with the specifications they have listed AND buy the software. Software is what killed it(We saw a list), because the schools get fat discounts on all the software they buy. They buy it in bulk... Some software was 20$ more than the "bargain" buy 10. I wonder what the bargain price is if you buy 200?

I guess that in that case I would just buy a discounted Dell. I would still treasure my MacBook Pro for everything else though. I hate Dell - bargain basement junk ship PCs all made with parts from the lowest bidder. At least Apple cares about quality.

TomTheCat, can i see the link to your thread? I didn't know

and annyone know if we are allowed to bring our own laptop to deerfield???
and anyone know about the laptop thing at choate or SPS?

Don't worry about it, it's fine. There had been threads about laptops before mine as well. I'm using my phone to type this so I don't want to go to the trouble of linking to it but its name was something along the lines of ""boarding school laptop of choice." The thread was never particularly scintillating.

Yeah his title is more exciting

Yep, just reading his title made my palms sweaty whereas reading mine only gave me goosebumps
