<p>Volunteer work
For an entire year freshman year, i tutored an underpriveleged 4th grader
for the last year and a half i have volunteered every sunday for an hour and a half at a soup kitchen
most likely going to Sri Lanka this summer to help out with victims of the Tsunami
I am a white male from lower NY, not NYC though by the way</p>

<p>will i get into cornell? i may apply ED, but i heard it doesnt help as much for Cornell as most other schools</p>

<p>ED helps a hella lot at cornell 41% versus mid 20%s overall (overall means RD is even lower)</p>

<p>My thought: possibly. thats pretty much it. everything looks good, so you have a chance, it doesn't get much better than that. Unless you're like, a black kid from compton who got a scholarship to P. Andover Acad. got a 4.0 and a 1600 and is the best hockey player in the country. I'd call that kid a lock...</p>
