I think it would be interesting to see people on here who started college at a young age ( under 17). I started at UW-milwaukee at 14 years old and went full time at 16.

Any other people on here who started college early?

My D started community college full-time at 15 and will hopefully transfer next fall at 17. I am curious about what your experience has been, Nova? I’m especially interested in what it has been like for you socially to be younger than your peers.

DS was just shy of 17 when he joined, and whatever problems he’s had haven’t been because of his age. For most of his school life, he was with older kids since he was the youngest in his grade, so it wasn’t much of an issue.

^maria I had a great time going to college at a young age. When I was 14 at college people would randomly ask how old I was and make remarks, usually funny, but nothing negative. A lot of students just thought it was really cool but didn’t ostracize me because of it. At 16 I stopped commuting and lived on campus…because i looked older no one really asked me my age and my social experience was the same as everyone’s.
What school is your D thinking about transferring to?

I’m in an early college high school (I’m not entirely sure that counts). I take courses at the local college for half of my school day, and I’ll graduate high school with my Associate’s degree. :)
