Iāve pretty much given up and Iām a senior so I was trying to figure out if I could still enter next year as an 18 yr old but I think Iāll miss it by a day? My birthday is December 1 and Iāll be 18 all of 2021 but that day Iāll be 19. Does anybody know if I can still enter at 18 or do I have to be 18 on Dec 1?
Saw another classical voice finalist on FB - this one is a tenor (posted overnight).
The really weird thing about this is that I will be still be 18 by December 1 2022ā¦ when Iām a sophomore in college. If anything Iāll apply next year again

someone just got finalist for photography on twitter. i guess thereās still hopeā¦?
Hate to be a downer, but the same photography finalist posted the day before (Nov. 20) that she had serious news to announce either that day, or the next (today), that āBlack youth are reppingā. Consider that and the professionalism of her post (unique graphic), itās very possible she got the call yesterday about YoungArts, not today. But hey, just speculation!
Three on Friday is not bad! Better than nothing on Thursday.
It seems YoungArts has halted all calling during the weekend; their Twitter has been quiet since Friday at 5:04 PM (Eastern Timezone, their Timezone) as of Saturday 7:05 PM (also EST). Now the hours of operation on the YoungArts website lists āMondayāFriday, 9 AMā5:30 PM Eastern Timeā, and so far (at least the recent tweets about Finalist notifications Iāve read), all of their tweets fall within this timespan and dates. Though there have been cases of Finalists posting their wins after 5:30, letās say those outliers are special cases, Finalists delayed in posting their wins to social medias forā¦ personal reasons. YoungArts could be doing overtime to compensate for their workload, but currently I doubt that applies to the weekend. So I wouldnāt expect any calls at all this weekend, but despair not! They havenāt called the Finalist process complete, and since their last update (5:04 PM EST) was at their last possible operating hours (following their work schedule), thereās still hope. YoungArts wants this finished and tied up as well, Iām sure that poor social media overseer wouldnāt waste any time in ending prolonged anxieties. In conclusion, letās relax this weekend (or remainder of it). We worked hard, we gave it our best, letās take a breath before next Monday!
But hey, just speculation!
