I'm working on 2 fiction pieces for now. I might start some other stuff if I have time :)

I’m applying in the short story and personal non-fiction categories. Do you happen to know how competitive the writing categories are? I won a gold medal in the scholastic art and writing awards last year, and I’m so curious about my chances for youngarts!

I think it’s more competitive than scholastic.
I’m debating whether I should submit one or two fiction pieces. they said quality over quantity so maybe I’ll just focus on finishing one really well…

Obviously this is just my opinion, but I think it would be to your advantage to submit 2 pieces (especially since the maximum is 3). It will give the jurors a better grasp of your versatility and voice, which can only help.

I thought that too, but I don’t think I have enough time to finish my 2nd piece very well. I think I’ll go with one.

Did any of you guys here back from youngart–there done judging I here!?!
