Is it ok to bring younger siblings (ages 7 and 10, in our case) along on the tour and interview? My husband and I would both like to go with our son to look at boarding schools, but then we'd have the two younger kids along as well. They can most likely be counted on to behave well, and I assume that when we're being interviewed they could sit somewhere quietly and read a book or play a handheld videogame. Or is this just going to be too much of a distraction and we'd really be better off finding some other arrangements for them?

We brought along our younger daughter (at the time, 10 years old) to pretty much every school visit (but not the revisits). It worked out fine.

I think the key point (which only you can acertain) is if they would be able to either sit quietly by themselves in reception or go on a tour without being a distraction/nuisance.

Perhaps most important is…how would your son that is applying feel about having his siblings around? If it would make him self conscious or stressed in the slightest, I’d say think twice.

Mine is an only but we encountered lots of families on tours with younger siblings and it wasn’t an issue.
