Hello users of CC

I'm in somewhat of a dilemma and I appreciate whoever takes the time out to read about my scheduling conflict

So, I took Pre-Cal over the summer, that way I would have 1 AP (calc) class extra than most of my peers, which means my rank would go higher. I know many people say rank isn't that big of a deal, but in Texas its huge, and I already took the course, passed it, and am currently in Calc BC. I received a 91 for the 1st 9-Weeks and in my school, 93+ for the semester is a 4.0. Because I spent so much time trying to get an A in BC Cal, I barely got A's in my other classes and even an 89 in AP Chem. My teacher brought up the point saying that if I drop down to AB Cal, I would receive 5 points extra on my quarter grade, giving more room to play with the 93 cutoff, as well as cushion in terms of learning because AB is 3 weeks behind BC. I don't see any major cons doing this, and as I was thinking, I am not even supposed to be in Calc (AB or BC) because my summer program was terrible

Any thoughts? Thanks for reading my loooong post :)

You’ve answered your own question. Drop down to AB. Your summer precal was not the best prep for cal. Besides, you could lose even more grade points if you can’t devote enough time and effort to other classes.

Thank you for reassuring my assumption :)
