So when exactly did the person you were talking about have his/her status acted upon?

I'm gonna go out and relax, all the wait today just to have nothing arrive.. at least now I'm more braced to accept a rejection Monday. I can't help but wonder though, what the distinction is between those who got something and those who didn't (who had their statuses acted upon this morning).

dated 3/27?!?!?!? i live in MISSISSIPPI when should I receive my rejection letter. Aint nobody wanna let a southerner to there fancy western schools

yes... i was really rejected. and what sucks even more, never in a million years would i have thought i would only be left with 2 schools out of 7 that i applied to, both of which were never on my radar before. a choice between UCSB and UCR, a choice i never thought i would have to make. life plain ol' sucks...

I definitely feel for you dude. I don't know what kind of environment you're looking for, but UCSB is a sick school, it's SO much fun and you could definitely go there for a couple years, have a blast, and transfer into USC or someplace else.

I'm probably gonna be going the same route. I got waitlisted at Wake Forest, and probably will get rejected from USC, Emory, and Vanderbilt. I got rejected from UCLA and UCB (out of state). It's tough.

I got rejected from Stanford, but I saw it coming. xD Got accepted to NYU, Boston U, and the University of Dallas. Now to wait for Yale, Columbia, and USC. =/ USC has made me wait for too long. D< I'll probably get rejected.

omfg i hate my dad right now. he's like ef-fing rubbing it in my face. this is what he recently said, "i saw a letter from USC some time ago. it said that you werent being considered for some scholarship. it also said that you were considering UCs. if you had written to them back and said all you wanted was USC, they wouldve accepted you and given you many scholarships. but i dont know what you did."
Wht the ef? USC has never done that and never will. but thats what i have to go through everyday. before i got all my letters, he had predicted that i would only be stuck with riverside. what kind of a dad does that?

tr1p7s: that sucks. my parents are a bit like that. luckily, i have complete autonomy in this process.

i know how you're feeling, and i say you should just go to SB, pull off a 3.5+ and transfer if you aren't content. but then again, who knows, you might end up loving it. by no means is it a "bad" school. just keep your eye on the prize, whatever it is.

Tr1p7s-- that is awful that your dad is like that. My S got that letter too about not being considered for scholarship, but I didn't see anything in it about applying to UC schools (although he didn't apply to any UC schools). We are still waiting for a R or A letter/package, status changed early am on the 29th too.
-Listen, believe in yourself and take what your Dad says with a grain of salt --he obviously needs to go to Parenting College. Go to one of the other schools, get some pre-reqs done and then keep following your dream. There are many ways to make a dream come true -- not just through 1 school. Time will heal the SC wound and you will do great in whatever you choose, no matter what path (or school) you follow.
~ Good luck and don't let the small stuff/small people drag you down.~

Eh, Ive already been accepted and my status still says in review, so i wouldn't put much emphasis on the status' unless you changed the 28th/29th as those are the only rejections that have a correlation between the date and letter (I haven't seen anyone still in review or anything else this wave that has been rejected, only those that changed yesterday, but at the same time some of those were accepted. ).

Mine says "acted upon"...I have a feeling I'm going to get rejected. I've already been rejected from 6 schools, including my dream school. This won't surprise me :(

TRIP: i applied to UC schools and the letter never said that. The only way that they would know if you applied to UC schools is through your FAFSA. unless you flat out stated it in your app which i am sure you didn't do.

this isn't really the same thing but I had a college counselor tell me that for finaid, if rival school A gives you more than rival school B, then you can report schools A's finaid to school B to see if they'll give you more, and SUPPOSEDLY, in most cases, they will because they don't want to lose a student to a rival school. not sure if that made sense or not, but hopefully you get what i mean. but i guess that would only be applicable if you applied to UCLA..
