Not sure that one can read anything into the status changes. My D was accepted two weeks ago, and her status still shows as "being reviewed".

Don't worry about the status everyone. Everyone's status has changed given that they sent out all decisions yesterday.

Here's what you can do though to see how long USPS will get to you. This only works if you're domestic, as they use FedEx/DHL for internationals. Here's the link.

To check how long a theoretical acceptance package will take from USC to your house click Large Envelope and say 2 pounds or so. Enter USC's zip code and yours. Then look at Priority Mail and read how many days it says. To check how long a theoretical rejection letter will take from USC to your house click letter and say 1 ounce. Enter USC's zip code and you'rs. Then look at First Class Mail and read how many days it says. Ignore the prices obviously.

i live in socal and i didn't get anything. why?

ditto

but my friends got something
one got rejection
and the other was accepted

weird right?

Thanks QuixoticRick for giving me a little peace of mind... I live in SoCal and on the USPS website it says it would take 1 day to get to me either way and I did not receive anything today. Either they send out most of the rejections later or it is just going to take a little longer for me. I just want this all to be over haha

according to that link, i'd receive a priority letter in 2 days, and a rejection in 3 (i'm in ny).

also, toggling with it, i found that it also takes 1 day for priority mail to get from one place in LA to another. yet everyone who has received something in socal has been rejected.

not true
i know of 2 acceptances in SoCal
and the rest rejections

i live in SoCal
and got nothing.

thesmiths-somebody got accepted in socal today

my friend had the acted upon status and got rejected...sorry guys but i think acted upon isnt good news

Note that one day could mean both next-day and same-day. Remember the volume of mail that USPS has to go through not only with USC but you know, normal people's mail too? :P

So there definitely seems to be a correlation between acted upon yesterday/today and receiving rejections today. Has there been anyone at all whose status changed to that^ that got accepted?

I wonder what this means for us (especially SoCalers) that didn't receive anything today, and whose statuses have been updated.

yeah
but i know one person who had acted upon and got in
so we really can't make judgements until we get our package

let's just hopee for the best =)

I'm guessing that the people who had their status changed today (including me) are rejected, and should recieve a rejection letter today or monday. One person from socal got accepted, but she had her status changed like 3 days ago.

It's just a guess, and I HOPE I am wrong.

jhuscla: Really??!

So "acted on" doesn't really mean rejection? Did that person's status change today?

I think instead of reading so much into this stuff we should just wait... it is what it is and we cannot do anything about it now so we should atleast TRY to relax

Are jhuscla and blacktiger talking about the same person?

I believe so....I think it was some girl who started a thread saying that she got accepted. So far, I only see 1 accepted socal person, and a bunch of rejected/didn't hear yet person.

i thought usc sent out everything yesterday, thats what the newspaper clip said! guess not right?

no im not talking about the same person as blacktiget63

but i agree with myboyhenne
we might as well just wait
its a matter of 2 days for most of us
