16 oz. hot Hazelnut oat milk latte. I suppose it would be a grande if I went to Starbucks, but I think their coffee tastes burnt and I prefer to support my local coffee shops. I love chai lattes with oat or almond milk too, but I usually make those at home using Bhakti concentrate.
Hardly ever go to a coffee shop, but if I do, the order would be tea or coffee plain (no sugar, milk, etc.).
The same goes for tea or (rarely) coffee that I drink at home or elsewhere.
OMG I almost bought this one this summer - at Home Goods!!! Because it is the closest thing to what I currently have - an electric pour over that really only makes 4 cups (which I call 2 cups). But mine is still working. Still, mine is not longer made (its a Gourmia) and I’ll be SO sad when it dies! But I thought it would be ridiculous to have a “spare” coffee machine. I still sort of regret I didn’t buy it!!!
Call me vain, but it’s important to me that a coffee machine looks nice - this one fits the bill. I’m also sold on electric pourover.
Those that use oat milk instead of dairy…it is a taste preference or a dairy free preference???
I drink hot tea. My order is an English breakfast tea with a splash of half and half.
Dairy free preference; cow’s milk and I don’t get along.
an Americano. It’s similar to drip coffee in taste, at least to me, but the difference is they make it and hand it to you instead of giving you coffee that may have gone a bit stale since it was brewed.
Hot chai tea latte, please!
Winter: latte, extra shot, whole or 2% milk, no foam (also know as “flat white”)
Summer: Iced/cold latter, extra shot, whole or 2% milk.
No sweetener, ever. Anything more than milk and it’s too sweet.
On occasion, though: Turkish coffee or an espresso. Nothing added to the Turkish coffee, because I’m not a monster, and the espresso perhaps with some plain sugar, depending on my mood.
PS. Turkish coffee is made with sugar in it because that’s how it’s done.
PPS. If you are eating at a Greek or Armenian restaurant, please do not ask for “Turkish coffee”.
Prefer grande/medium hot latte with whole milk and one raw sugar. Compared with refined sugar, the molasses tinge gives a nice, mellow flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet. For just regular black coffee, I prefer Dunkin to Starbucks, but (1) Dunkin doesn’t stock raw sugar, and (2) consistency is an issue, at least outside of New England. There are 3 Dunkin locations that I’ve tried here in DFW depending on my path that day, and I’ve had a latte with the milk left out, a coffee with 4 sugars instead of 1, etc. etc. I find that Starbucks is much more consistent and less prone to mistakes. I would love to support local, but the local chain in my area is just OK, nothing special. There is a local bistro nearby that’s fantastic, but pricey and way too slow for picking up on the way to work.
Agree on the added flavor boost of raw sugar - that’s what is in my sugar jar at home. Also, another nice touch similarly can be a dash of brown sugar. Or that maple syrup I mentioned earlier. Plain white sugar is my last resort.
Hadn’t really thought of trying a bit of maple syrup - will give that a shot tomorrow. Thanks!
coffee: black, in a cup, hot prefer Blonde at starbucks but can only get that before 11 am, so usually have to suffer with something else (thus I get the tea)
favorite: chai tea latte, hot or iced
Thank you!
Decaf Mexican mocha made with whole milk. My favorite place adds cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of cayenne to the mocha.
Decaf because I have GERD and caffeinated coffee roils my stomach for hours afterward.
I rarely go to a coffee shop, usually when traveling. If they have it I will get a breve otherwise large decaf with 1/2 and 1/2 and a raw sugar. I don’t like Starbucks. We used to have a Caribou coffee shop in town which was my favorite but it closed. My current favorite coffee and coffee shop is Colectivo in Wisconsin, we discovered it when my D was in college and she lives in Madison now so we go every day when we visit her. I also order all my coffee from there, it is so good!
We used to always use a french press and my H still does but several years ago I read an article that suggested drinking unfiltered coffee can raise your cholesterol. After seeing my doctor and having an elevated cholesterol I switched to an immersion coffee maker that has a filter and the next visit my total cholesterol was down 40 points so I have kept on with that. Makes great coffee too!
At home I drink one large cup (decaf) with 1/2 and 1/2 and a bit of raw sugar.
I’m a big Dunkin fan also…largely due to convenience.
But if @abasket is treating, I’ll take a LARGE salted caramel mocha from Starbucks. It tastes like a snickers bar…and it’s like drinking a Big Mac calorie wise. I don’t get it very often…but it’s tasty.
What brand is your frother?
Half caf cafe au lait, please.
